Adobe reinstall or?

People,

I have a licensed version of adobe Acrobat Pro 9

And of Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0

And of Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0

My desktop computer Dell 9000 XPS running Windows 7 - 64bit was recently repaired (a replacement internal HD - not C drive).  And was otherwise not used for almost 3 months.

Since the HD repair – When I attempt to open any of the Adobe applications I get a message that Adobe Acrobat Pro needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled or contact network administrator (me - I only have 1 laptop and 1 desktop) with an error (148:3)

I have tried to repair - and that took an hour or so and initially seemed to work.

I have no real idea why the message occurs and do not want to go through the uninstall/ install cycle when this might not actually fix the underlying problem.

What should I do next?

At least 1 problem is that I have upgraded from Adobe Acrobat 5.5 to 7 to 8 to 9 (similarly for the photo products)  I have been a loyal customer for many years.

I recall that the last time I reinstalled the software onto the then new computers it took an interminable amount of time to work through all the editions and updates.

Thank you in advance - you have been so helpful in the past.
