Of course. - large or medium print requires large preview, small print requires medium preview - good point (when I said "near-raw" quality, I didn't mean small, but you're right - I didn't say it, that time, although I did say it in other posts in this thread - couldn't make the leap?..).
Anyway, here are some numbers:
Raw: 7728 x 4352 (full preview size too)
Medium preview: 1024x577
Quality/size considerations left as exercise..
